Story Time

Once upon a time in a faraway land, there lived a young girl named Lily who had been struggling with mental health issues for many years. She had tried everything – therapy, medication, and even meditation but nothing seemed to alleviate her anxiety.

One day, she decided to take a break from her busy routine and visit a stable yard nearby. She had always loved animals and was hoping to find solace among the gentle creatures. As she approached the stables, she noticed a beautiful brown horse staring at her with its big expressive eyes. She felt drawn towards the animal and knew immediately that she had to meet him.

As she approached the horse, she noticed how calm and gentle he was. She approached him with caution, but the horse soon began nuzzling her hand and asking for affection. Lily was struck by how open and affectionate the animal was, and she realised that she had found a friend who could help her through her struggles.

Over the weeks and months that followed, Lily would spend more and more time with the horse, whom she had now named Brownie. She would groom him, take him for walks, and even ride him. She found that being around the horse helped her feel grounded and calm. She felt like she could pour her heart out to him and he would listen without judgment. She also found comfort in the rhythm of his movements while riding, which helped quiet her busy mind.

Slowly but surely, Lily's mental health began to improve, and she started feeling more confident and resilient. She knew that she owed a great debt of gratitude to Brownie, who had helped her through some of her darkest moments.

Years later, Lily became a mentor to other people struggling with mental health issues. She started a programme where people could come to the horse farm and spend time with the animals, just like she had. She saw firsthand how the presence of horses could help people relax and bring them a sense of peace. For her, there was no greater joy than seeing others find the same comfort and healing that she had found with Brownie.
